East Tyrol offers numerous exciting excursion destinations & places of interest. The choice ranges from natural spectacles such as the Galitzenklamm gorge, informative museums and impressive buildings, to the year-round "Osttirodler" toboggan run. There is something for people of all ages in East Tyrol!
Numerous steep curves and jumps, waves and three loops make this the most spectacular Alpine Coaster in the Alps. A ride you can really enjoy to the full, since it lasts 4.5 to 6 or 7 minutes, depending on which speed you choose. This Alpine Coaster is one of the longest and most spectacular in the world, but is nevertheless comfortable and extremely safe.
The ride is also breathtaking because of the sensational panoramic views of Bruck Castle, Sonnenstadt and the bottom of the Lienz valley. Osttirodeln is the latest sports trend in Lienz, but careful: it can become addictive!
Children will feel really special at Wichtelpark Sillian in East Tyrol's Hochpustertal valley because there are many great attractions here: a small bumper car rink is a particularly popular meeting point for younger kids and the flying fox offers adventure at a dizzy height. A spectacular new tunnel slide - over 30 metres long - entices both young and old to an adventurous descent.
There is also a twin-towered feature with tunnel slide, children's seesaw, family swing, climbing walls, water garden, an 18 hole mini-golf course and lots more..
Assling Wildlife Park in East Tyrol is one of the many things to experience in Assling. It will get animal lovers' hearts racing. All types of native wild animals are represented here and just waiting to be visited. Feeding of some animals is allowed using the feed provided, some may also be stroked.
Deer, chamois, wild boar, mouflons, ibex, marmots, wild cats, lynx, snakes, ducks, fish, birds of prey, bison and raccoons live here in spacious natural enclosures.
Excitement, entertainment, fun and sport. All this is easy to find at the Galitzenklamm gorge. You have the feeling of being in a giant, spacious adventure park, with one attraction after another. The park contains a water trail that weaves along past spectacular bridges and steep rock faces. The Galitzen Stream rushes adventurously and spectacularly down into the valley. The Lienz Dolomites tower above everything. You can also observe climbers from a safe distance.
Discover the vital force of the mountains and their herbs with all your senses - in an area of 6,500 m². Find out about the secrets of making pure essential oils in the distillery. Numerous sensory stations such as the barefoot path with Kneipp bath, arnica spring, spring-water bowls and the new pinewood feature create a real sense of wellbeing in the 'Wohlfühlgarten'. The playground, shop with top quality care products from Unterweger (a natural brand), together with the special exhibition - "Since 1886 – Top Tyrolean Pine Oil Distillery“ - make Vitalpinum a real insider tip for people of all ages.
Tristacher See
It's the fantastic location of this natural gem at the foot of the Lienz Dolomites that make the highest bathing lake in East Tyrol - 'Tristacher See' - so attractive. A children's playground, sunbathing lawn, attractive café and beach volleyball court make the lido at Tristacher See such a popular attraction.
Aquafun Alpine Leisure Pool in Innichen
